Isara vs Playvox: 100% conversation analysis vs sample-based quality management
Playvox — now sold as Playvox by NiCE following NICE’s acquisition — is a workforce engagement suite for contact centres: quality management with scorecards, calibration and coaching, plus digital-first workforce management, bought through a quote process. Isara is an independent conversation intelligence layer: it analyses 100% of your conversations, human and AI, for churn, compliance and agent performance — self-serve from $49 a month. If you need scheduling and a formal QM programme, that’s Playvox. If you need to know what’s actually in your conversations, start with Isara.

Pricing: $49 self-serve vs a quote from NICE
Playvox does not publish pricing. Since the NICE acquisition, the route to a number is “Request a quote” on nice.com; NICE’s public pricing page covers its CXone Mpower suites and doesn’t mention Playvox at all. The old playvox.com marketing site — including its pricing pages — now redirects to a customer login.
Isara’s pricing is public and simple. A team handling 10,000 conversations a month pays $634.50 on Isara Growth: $99 base plus 8,500 conversations at $0.063 each (the first 1,500 are included). A 3,000-conversation team pays $161.50 on Core. Every plan has unlimited users, a monthly budget cap you set yourself, a 30-day free trial with no credit card, and monthly billing you can change any time.
Where Playvox is the better choice
If you need workforce management, Isara simply isn’t in that business: Playvox’s digital-first WFM — forecasting, scheduling, real-time adherence, capacity planning — is a core strength, built for omnichannel teams rather than voice-era call centres. Its quality management is also a full programme tool: scorecard building, calibration sessions, dispute workflows, coaching plans and agent gamification. Contact centres that want QM and WFM from one vendor, with NICE’s enterprise backing behind it, are Playvox’s natural buyers.
Where Isara is different
Coverage. Playvox’s own quality-management datasheet describes distributing evaluations by “random sampling or a narrow, defined focus”. That’s the traditional QA model: score a slice, extrapolate the rest. Isara analyses 100% of conversations — the escalation that never got sampled, the compliance slip in ticket 4,000, the churn signal in a one-line reply — because the point isn’t grading a sample, it’s knowing what happened.
AI agents included. Isara monitors what your AI agents say to customers with the same rigour as your humans — fabrications, off-policy promises, tone. Playvox’s live pages publish no AI-agent evaluation capability.
Independence and simplicity. Isara is a read-only layer beside your helpdesk, not a workforce platform to roll out. Nothing migrates, no rollout project, no quote cycle.
The commercial model. Self-serve, per conversation, unlimited seats, $49 to start, no credit card. You can be looking at your own data this afternoon.
Running Isara alongside Playvox
Isara connects read-only to Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk or Gorgias, so an evaluation doesn’t touch your Playvox deployment: your QM assignments and schedules carry on exactly as before while Isara reads the full conversation stream underneath them. Compare what your sampled reviews found against what 100% coverage finds — that difference is the decision.
Frequently asked questions
What happened to Playvox?
Playvox is now owned by NICE and sold as “Playvox by NiCE”, primarily through nice.com. The former playvox.com marketing site redirects to a customer login. NICE hasn’t published acquisition details on its site.
How much does Playvox cost?
Playvox by NiCE does not publish pricing — it’s quote-based via NICE sales. Isara publishes all pricing: from $49/month including 1,500 conversations, with unlimited users and a 30-day free trial.
Does Isara do workforce management?
No. Isara doesn’t do forecasting, scheduling or adherence — if you need WFM, you need a WFM product. Isara covers the intelligence side: what’s actually being said in 100% of your conversations, by humans and AI.
Does Isara replace Playvox QM?
It depends what you use QM for. Isara automatically scores every conversation and recommends agent training, without manual scorecards or calibration sessions. Teams that need a formal, human-graded QM programme keep one; teams that mainly need visibility often find full coverage replaces sampling.
How long does Isara take to set up?
Sign in with your existing helpdesk workspace — read-only, no code, insights the same day.
How does Isara handle our data?
Read-only access only. Isara never writes to your helpdesk or contacts your customers, and access can be revoked at any time.
